About

The aim of the Spin Physics Community represented here is to study Spin phenomena in particle and nuclear physics as well as those in related fields. Spin - the intrinsic angular momentum of point-like particles - is a fundamental property of elementary constituents of matter like leptons or quarks and, in a more general sense, of composite systems like nucleons or nuclei.

Spin Physics is discussed at biennial ''Spin Physics Symposia'' which emerged from two Conference Series

Starting in 2000 at Osaka, the Series was continued as ''International Symposia on Spin Physics''. The next Spin Physics symposium - SPIN2023 - will be conducted on in fall 2023 at Duke Univ., USA. A list of previous Spin Physics Symposia can be found here.

In parallel, Workshops on the development of experimental or theoretical methods to perform or analyze Spin experiments are being organized, e.g. on

A list of previous Spin Workshops can be found here.

The series of Spin Physics Symposia and Workshops is organized by the ''International Spin Physics Committee''. The scientific programs of these meetings include topics related to spin phenomena in particle and nuclear physics as well as those in related fields. A list of the present members of the ISPC can be found here.

The ISPC chooses the site of the next Spin Physics Symposium and that of the the Spin Workshops. It makes sure that Local Organizing Committee for each meeting invites participants and speakers in a balanced manner according to the IUPAP rules, and that the organizers appropriately publish and distribute copies of the Symposium or Workshop Proceedings to each participant.
